Glossary of important terms
Everyday explanations of the most important terms in codeto report.
Company-specific terms are deliberately not included; this glossary describes the standard.
Absences
Recorded absences such as holidays, illness, accident, military or civilian service.
Views
Day, week, month and year views for capture and overview.
Archive PDF
Closing document for a week with hours, additions and circulation log, for audit-proof storage.
Favorites
Marked projects or absences that appear at the top during capture.
Holiday account
Balance of available holiday days or hours.
CLA
Collective labor agreement. Specifications that can influence working hours, supplements and rule checks.
Actual time
Sum of the actually captured working time in a period.
Project
Organizational unit on which working time is booked (customer, internal project).
Report
An entry of time worked or an absence. Can consist of several time blocks but never covers more than one day.
Report status
Possible states: Planned, Forwarded, Approved, Rejected, Cancelled.
Rule check
Automatic check against working time regulations, CLA and project settings. Result: information, warning or error.
Balance (time account)
Difference between actual time and target time. Depending on configuration, including holiday and overtime balances.
Service user
Technical role for integrations. No login via the user interface.
Target time
Specified working time per day or week according to working time regulations and public holidays.
Proxy
Substitution rule defining to whom reports are assigned for approval if the standard person is absent.
Temporary exports
Time-limited download files, automatically deleted after 7 days.
Circulation log
Chronological list of all events for a report: forwardings, approvals, closures, openings, signatures and additions.
Approval
Authorization of a report by the entitled person. Only after approval is a report considered released.
Approval structure
Order of reviewers, e.g. employees, project managers, supervisors, administration.
Forward
Sending a report to the next stage in the approval chain.
Time block
A single from-to booking (e.g. 08:00 to 12:00). A report can contain several time blocks.
Additions
Additional entries for a report, e.g. expenses, travel allowances or paid absences.
Supplements
Automatically or manually granted supplements (e.g. night, Sunday work). Rules defined per company.
