Balances

codeto report keeps running hour balances per employee. They show how much holiday is still open, how much over- or undertime has accumulated in the current year and how many hours were carried over from the previous year.

The three balance accounts

Holiday	Open holiday days and hours up to the end of the year
Overtime	Over- and undertime of the current year
Prior-year hours	Overtime transferred to the new year as at 31 December

The separation between overtime and prior-year hours makes visible where a credit comes from: overtime shows the current year, prior-year hours the credit carried over from the previous year.

Account names

By default the accounts are called Holiday, Overtime and Prior-year hours. The names can be adjusted per customer. The balance types of the absences carry the same names. In the app they are currently still called "Vacation balance", "CBA-Balance" and "Compensation balance".

Your own balances are described under My balances, access to other people's balances under Employee balances. How the values come about is described under Balances for SaaS customers and Balances for Enterprise customers.

Visibility also depends on activation

The role alone does not decide: the function can only be used if it has been activated for the company.

The sidebar entries "My balances" and "Employee balances" as well as the tile in the overview area are always present and can be opened. If the function has not yet been enabled, the view stays empty and no hours are shown.

An empty balance view therefore does not necessarily mean that there are no hours, it can also mean that the function is not yet active for the company. If in doubt, ask codeto.
