Configuring supplements
Art. 25 of the GAV defines when wage supplements are due. In codeto report these supplements are mapped as report additions and run automatically once configured.

These supplements must not be compensated with time off, they have to be settled through the wage (Art. 25).
Creating supplements
Supplements are configured as report additions with automatic conditions. The full documentation is available under Additions (project-related).
Procedure:
- Open "Report additions" in the branch office settings.
- Create a new addition, for example "Night supplement".
- Activate "Apply automatically" and store the conditions.
- Enter one condition per time window, with the rate as a percentage and the matching weekdays.
A time window must not extend across midnight. For 23:00 to 06:00 two conditions are needed: 23:00 to 00:00 and 00:00 to 06:00. This matches the GAV table, which keeps these windows separate anyway.
Example configuration
A GAV-compliant setup typically requires these additions:

In the "Public holidays" field you define whether a rule applies on public holidays. For the Sunday and public holiday supplement this option has to be active, otherwise the supplement only applies on Sundays. Which days count as a public holiday is controlled by the public holiday configuration.
Interaction with overtime
If Saturday, night, Sunday or public holiday supplements are paid for the same hours, the 25 % supplement for overtime and excess time does not apply (Art. 22.3). codeto report does not check this distinction automatically. It has to be taken into account during payroll processing, see Overtime, excess time and vorholzeit.
Verification
Whether a supplement has actually been applied is visible in the report. If an expected supplement is missing, the checklist in the FAQ helps.
Common causes:
- The condition is restricted to certain projects or branches.
- The time window does not cover the report, for example because of the midnight boundary.
- The condition falls outside "Valid from" and "Valid until".
- The addition is only recorded as a template and has not been transferred to the company, see Introduction.
